Say What... You Haven't Signed-up Yet?!?!

true We’re three days away from launching the first version of WhyGoSolo…and who is invited to the party?!?! Correct, only the people who have signed up before January 5, 2008.  This means you have two days left to <a href="../invite">sign-up</a>, otherwise you’ll have to wait to until the next go-round to check-us out.So why should you sign-up and use WhyGoSolo?  Well, WhyGoSolo is perfect for all the things you love to do but you don’t have the right person to do the activities with.  WhyGoSolo is splendid for those occasions when you’re on the road traveling, left behind by your friends, stuck with cancelled plans or just relocated to a new area.  WhyGoSolo is also ideal for those moments when you feel spontaneous and find yourself with an afternoon or day off or you want to try something new and meet someone new. The way WhyGoSolo works is that you create listings for the activities you want to do. The listings require that you include detailed information about what you what to do so that whoever reads your listings knows what to expect and what you are looking for. <img src="http://static.whygosolo.com/blog/complete_listing.png" alt="" width="595" height="374" align="middle" />  Each listing is posted under your profile in your Community Listings... <img src="http://static.whygosolo.com/blog/open_listings.png" alt="" width="595" height="374" align="middle" /> ...And also on the Community Board according to the category and sub-category of your listing.  The Community Board is filtered by Countries, States and Cities.  Yep…pretty much like <a href="http://www.craigslist.org/about/sites.html" target="_blank">Craigslist</a>.<img src="http://static.whygosolo.com/blog/communmity_board.png" alt="" width="595" height="376" align="middle" /> Each listing is attached to your profile by clicking on your picture.  So, when someone is looking at your listing, they can first look up information about you to decide if they want to join you or not.  When someone decides to join you they initiate the Handshake Process.  The Handshake Process is how listings go from an Open Status to a Planned Status. Both parties have to agree they want to go and confirm they are going. <img src="http://static.whygosolo.com/blog/profile.png" alt="" width="595" height="375" align="middle" />  Profiles have normal features like a profile page, picture gallery, private messaging, blog, friends and comment wall.  You can also create and join groups.  Groups for specialized niches or interest groups are great to really help you find the right like-minded people to accompany you on the things you want to do.  Once you’ve created or joined a group(s) you can post your listings within or only the group(s). <img src="http://static.whygosolo.com/blog/groups.png" alt="" width="595" height="377" align="middle" />  All of this is so it’s quick and easy to find someone to join you to go watch a sport's game, play golf, find someone to go the movies, biking, hiking, shopping or in my case…find someone to join me at the Opera or theater.
