"This is site is kind of close to me. Why you ask? This site is a great tool for people who just moved to a new city. I have lived in almost 10 cities throughout my life. It is easier to meet people when you are younger and in school, but once you are out of school, it becomes more difilcult to meet new people with similar interests."

"For example, one thing I remember after all this time is that it’s not always easy to balance a book and eat your dinner. And if you spend your time looking at happy groups and couples in the same establishment you can start to feel you are not exactly living the good life.
Then there’s sport. Much more fun to have someone to shout or argue with at the game.
I’m not talking about dating here, although clearly that’s one issue that comes up in conversation about going solo. I’m talking about having company when you are feel like going to a game, or a movie, or the theater, or having dinner or lunch."

"Groups and community listings are really what makes WhyGoSolo stand out. You can create a group for whatever you can think of - biking enthusiasts, local artists, music lovers, anything niche. I joined The Wing Women group which is meant to connect women who’d like to meet other women to hang out with within their city."

"Why go to the ballgame, concert, lunch or dinner solo? Obviously, we all like our own privacy sometimes but other times we might want to find someone with like interests to hang out with. This is especially true for those that might have just moved into a new area. WhyGoSolo is a new social networking site aimed at helping you to create spontaneous new connections so, as its name implies, you won't go solo any longer."
- Frank Gruber of Somewhat Frank on 19 Feb 2008
"A better comparison of WhyGoSolo would be to sites like wannago.com and soon-to-launch zoodango.com. However, unlike those offerings, the WhyGoSolo community isn't meant to be an endpoint for social interactions. Instead, they want to grow into a hub of information that is gathered and then rebroadcast through various means, including social network integration."

"So you love Tyler Perry shows and he is coming to Milwaukee right? Nobody you know likes Tyler Perry but you have won two tickets to see the show. Why Go Solo? Check out WhyGoSolo.com."

"... @lalunablanca already created a Sushi dinner event for anyone to join him and his wife for Sushi dinner in Memphis. Now I wish i was in Memphis. My gut feeling is that as the network grows WhyGoSolo will have many more ancillary uses that users will do themselves to make it more fun. Is this a dating site? Is linkedin or Facebook a dating site ?"

"After learning about WhyGoSolo I decided to explore the site. I believe Ann is solving a problem that many of us face at different times. As more people discover WhyGoSolo, it's ability to serve it's underlying community organically increases.
I invite you to discover WhyGoSolo with me. I think Ann and her team are onto something which could become BIG."
- Jeff Pulver, 17 Feb 2008
"WhyGoSolo is a very different type of social networking site. It is not focused on helping you make virtual connections (LinkedIn has excelled at that and I have all kinds of neat random people of no value in my 'network') . It appears to me that it is focused on helping you make REAL live flesh and blood people connections."
- Patrick Allmond of StopDoingNothing on 08 Jan 2008
"Over the past couple of months, I have read Ann's tweets, and an occasional blog post or two. I never really understood what WhyGoSolo was or the problem it solved. Then this past weekend, Ann started to tweet about her eminent launch, and I began to read her tweets with interest, and even made sure to get into the beta.
WhyGoSolo is an interesting concept, which allows a person who is attending an event solo to meet others that are attending that event, and connect. Simple, smart and useful."
