Yut Media, Inc. is the sole owner of the information collected on www.WhyGoSolo.com. WhyGoSolo collects information from our users at several different points on our Web site. WhyGoSolo is committed to fair information practices. This commitment extends both to ensuring that we use data from our customers in an appropriate and expected manner and to educating our customers and the public generally about the appropriate use of information provided by WhyGoSolo.
In order to become a publisher to WhyGoSolo, a publisher must first complete the registration form. During registration a user is required to give contact information (such as name and email address). We use this information to contact the user about services on our site for which he has expressed interest. It is optional for the user to provide demographic information, and unique identifiers (such as, username and password), but encouraged so we can provide a more personalized experience on our site.
Once a user, you may provide additional information in the Profile section including pictures, description of your skills, professional experiences, and networking objectives. Providing additional information beyond what is required at registration is entirely optional, but enables you to better identify yourself and find new opportunities in the WhyGoSolo system. All users have the option of making their profile public, public to their friends only, or private. A public profile allows all visitors and users to see your profile page. A public to your friends only status only allows registered users who are connected to you to see your profile page. A private status prevents all visitors and users from seeing your profile page. You can set this privacy setting under your "Account Settings" section when you are logged into the WhyGoSolo web site.
Like most web sites, WhyGoSolo uses cookies and web log files to track site usage. A cookie is a tiny data file which resides on your computer that allows WhyGoSolo to recognize you as a user when you return to our site using the same computer and web browser. Unfortunately, if your browser settings do not allow cookies, you will not be able to use our web site. Like the information you enter at registration or in your Profile, cookie and log file data is used to customize your experience on the web site.
Due to the communications standards on the Internet, when you visit the WhyGoSolo web site we automatically receive the URL of the site from which you came and the site to which you are going when you leave WhyGoSolo. We also receive the Internet protocol (IP) address of your computer (or the proxy server you use to access the World Wide Web), your computer operating system and type of web browser you are using, as well as the name of your ISP. This information is used to analyze overall trends to help us improve the WhyGoSolo service. We do not directly link these types of information with your personally identifiable information. For purposes of this Policy, "personally identifiable information" means any information that could be used to identify you personally (e.g., your email address, username, or name).
We use the information we collect about you (including your personally identifiable information) to create a better, more personalized experience for you based on your individual usage habits, improve our marketing and promotional efforts, analyze site usage, improve our content and product offerings, and customize our site's content, layout and Services. These uses improve our site and allow us to better customize it to meet your needs. We also use the information we collect about you to resolve disputes, troubleshoot problems, and enforce our Terms of Services Agreement.
We may compile the information we collect about you and use it, in an aggregate form only, in the negotiation and establishment of service agreements with public and/or private enterprises under which such enterprises will serve as WhyGoSolo partners, associations, or to potential venues members can gain benefits from.
Children are not eligible to use our service and we ask that minors (under the age of 18) do not submit any personal information to us or use any of our services.
We send all new members a welcoming email to verify password and username. Established members will occasionally receive information on products, services, special deals, and a newsletter. Out of respect for the privacy of our users we present the option to not receive these types of communications.
If a user wishes to subscribe to our newsletter, we ask for contact information such as name and email address. Out of respect for our users privacy we provide a way to opt-out of these communications.
On rare occasions it is necessary to send out a strictly service related announcement. For instance, if our service is temporarily suspended for maintenance we might send users an email. Generally, users may not opt-out of these communications, though they can deactivate their account. However, these communications are not promotional in nature.
We communicate with users on a regular basis to provide requested services and in regards to issues relating to their account we reply via email or phone, in accordance with the users wishes.
WhyGoSolo provides all of its members with reasonable opportunity to access and update their member profile information. If you have disclosed information to us via an online order form or application, you may access and update this information by login into the web site. Our customer support department can also reasonably assist you with other requests related to data maintained by us.
Though we make every effort to preserve user privacy, we may need to disclose personal information when required by law wherein we have a good-faith belief that such action is necessary to comply with a current judicial proceeding, a court order or legal process served on our Web site.
WhyGoSolo has security measures in place to help prevent the loss, misuse and alteration of the financial information under our control. For example, when we ask users to provide financial information (such as credit card number), the data is protected using Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) encryption technology.
Our Site includes profiles, photo albums, forums, message boards, groups, community board and other community tools available to you. Please remember that any information, including any personal information, that is disclosed in these areas becomes public information for other users to view and for us to use. For example, from time to time, we may use the content you write (including display name if you post it) or media you post (including photos and videos) for promotional purposes, in e-mail newsletters, marketing campaigns or elsewhere, and by using our Site or these profiles, photo albums, forums, message boards, groups, community board and other community tools, you agree that we may do so. If a user elects to use our referral service for informing a friend about our network, we ask them for the friends name and email address. WhyGoSolo will automatically send the friend a one-time email inviting them to visit the site. WhyGoSolo stores this information for the sole purpose of sending this one-time email and tracking the success of our referral program. The friend may contact WhyGoSolo at support@WhyGoSolo.com to request the removal of this information from our database.
If we decide to change our privacy policy, we will post those changes to this privacy statement, the homepage, and other places we deem appropriate so our users are always aware of what information we collect, how we use it, and under what circumstances, if any, we disclose it. We will use information in accordance with the privacy policy under which the information was collected. If, however, we are going to use users personally identifiable information in a manner different from that stated at the time of collection we will notify users via email.
