Short Biography:
I was born and raised in southern California and currently reside in the San Fernando Valley, which is not too far away from Hollywood. I've always been fascinated with technology and media, which led me to start and run my own niche media production company at the tail end of the '80s and poured the proverbial 'blood, sweat, and tears' into making it successful. I passed the company on to a relative after running it for over sixteen years. I have changed careers several times over the years, but I still love media and tech and now support the enterprise technical infrastructure of one of the largest specialty health-care providers in the nation with a global health-care provider program that operates in seventeen countries around the world and still growing. It's a non-profit organization and the work that is being done is great, especially the work being done in all of the developing countries around the globe.
Favorite locations:
I LOVE the Caribbean! Really, just anything with a tropical beach. I also love the scenery of Northern California. Carmel is a beautiful place(and very pet friendly). Anywhere in and around Big Sur is gorgeous too.
Favorite foods:
Asian, American, Italian, Mexican, Filipino, Indian...etc. I say bring it on!!! ;-)
Favorite movies:
Some movies I've liked in the past are: Casino, Memento, Amelie, Startup.com, Mail Order Wife, Underworld, Pursuit of Happyness, Serenity, The Long Kiss Goodnight, The Sixth Sense, Glory, Carlito's Way, The Shawshank Redemption, Back to the Future series, The Godfather saga, The Indiana Jones saga, and the LOTR series.
Favorite books:
"E-Myth[Revisited]", "iCon:The Greatest 2nd Act in the History of Business", "Einstein", "The Elegant Universe", "The Diamond Age", "The World is Flat", "Timeline", "Hyperspace: A Scientific Odyssey Through Parallel Universes, Time Warps, and the 10th Dimension" are some of the books I've liked recently. The last book sounds pretty crazy, but its written in easy english for blockheads like me that just loves the concepts and theories it introduces.
Favorite tv shows:
West Wing, ER, Weeds, Dexter, Dead Zone, CSI:Las Vegas, Lost, Stargate:SG1, SportsNight, 24, Battlestar Galactica, Simpsons, Scrubs, 4400, Monk, Arrested Development, Dead Like Me, Firefly, and Farscape are some of my favorites. Too bad seven out of my list are already off the air. But they will forever live in re-runs in my living room thanks to DVD! :-)
Favorite activities:
Outdoor activities: I love snowboarding, hiking, and camping. Taking my dog out and about. Sometimes, just hanging out at a nearby coffee shop or bookstore, or a friend's house is just the ticket. Indoor activities: Watching a DVD of a good movie or TV show, reading (or listening to) a good book, or on my computer combing over the latest coming off of the RSS feeds, Pownce, and whatever comes off the 'series of tubes' that runs the 'nets. ;-) In a nutshell, I'm easygoing with most everything so I'm open for most anything.
Favorite conversation topics:
The web, technology, tech trends, business, and sometimes even life in general. I also have a fascination for theoretical physics and the grand unification with quantum theory and how it will ultimately fit into the whole mix. I'm not at all into the math side of it, but more the theories and concepts that books like "A Brief History of Time" and "The Elegant Universe" introduce.
